Tattoo Aftercare

The first 30 days determine how your art looks for the next 30 years. Follow this protocol strictly.

Day 01

The First 24 Hours

  • The Bandage: Keep wrap for 2–4 hours. For Saniderm, follow Artist Peace's specific timing.
  • The First Wash: Use lukewarm water and fragrance-free soap. Fingertips only; NO cloths.
  • Pat Dry: Use a clean paper towel to pat dry. Never rub the skin.
  • Breathe: No ointment on the first night unless skin feels painfully tight.
Day 02 – 06

Hydration & Protection

  • Thin Layering: Apply a tiny amount of balm 2-3 times daily. Skin should look matte, not greasy.
  • Wash Regularly: Clean twice daily to prevent heavy scabbing.
  • Clothing: Wear loose cotton. Avoid gym wear or synthetics.
Day 07 – 14

The Itch & Peel

  • Golden Rule: DO NOT pick or scratch. Let flakes fall naturally to keep ink intact.
  • Switch to Lotion: Move to fragrance-free lotion (Aveeno/Lubriderm).
  • Soothe: Gently slap the area to relieve itching.
Day 15 – 30

Deep Healing

  • Silver Skin: Tattoo may look dull or milky. This is normal healing.
  • Sun Shield: Use SPF 50+ outdoors once skin is closed. UV is the enemy of ink.

"Strictly Prohibited"

  • No Swimming / Tubs
  • No Direct Sunlight
  • No Scratching/Picking
  • No Tight Gym Gear
